ARTIST STATEMENT

Color heals.

The Magical Mystery Pour is an ongoing collection of my liquid pouring, energy painting, and abstract art. When I paint, my thinking slows down. I get a direct line to all the mystery in this world. I go to a place untouched by circumstance, story, addiction, trauma, and dissociation. I invite you to come on this magical mystery pour with me. I believe we are all artists. As I continue to experiment with these visual mediums on my own, I am also introducing this medium where art is not typically found — in the therapeutic settings of detoxes and psychiatric facilities. I believe abstract painting creates profound healing by shifting our perception of the world and our place in it.
